Happy Halloween! The spooky time is here and before you know it you’ll be trading in your jack-o-lanterns for Turkey. October has been a whirlwind for sure with lots of spooky shoots and I’ve got five more wonderful sets to share with you today.
To start things off is maybe our most Halloweeny set of the month featuring everybody’s favorite jokester Bangs The Clown (aka Nova) in special Halloween themed shoot. Nova and I are both Halloween fans and decided to go full out with a Halloween inspired variation of Nova’s Bangs The Clown. Nova put the whole look together in such a super cute way. You can see in the set we originally started off shooting in Downtown Los Angeles, but something just felt off so we zipped up the 110 to Pasadena and it was the perfect atmosphere.
Up next we get a little more bangs action with the return of our resident Bettie Page - Lady Krondor. The good Lady and I kept it kind of local with a shoot in West Hollywood. We had a really fun time with some beautiful lit spots, bat play, and as you can see some double exposure experimentation with the new Kung Fu Breakfast logo by Tom Maher. So glad to have Lady Krondor back!
Speaking of returns we have another new set with one of the most inspiriting muses I’ve ever worked with: Brittny Nicole aka Cosmic Daughter. Brittny really wanted to head back out to The Salton Sea and I am always happy to head out to one of the weirdest places on the planet. We had an epic day with stops in Bombay Beach, East Jesus, and a few other of my favorite little spots around Slab City. I attempted to take Brittny to the Mudpots, these hot beds of sulphur that make little volcanos. What I did not think about was that it had rained days earlier and so I almost sank down the moment I tried to step in to the field. Between that and Brittny’s light saber from Flashing Blinky Lights I got a very Tatooine vibe hence “A New Hope”. Big thanks to my other muse Chelsea Hanes for supplying a dope clip-in hairwrap from her company Spirit Sugar.
My next set is a new muse to you but I’ve known her for years, the wonderful Athena Fatale. Athena and I used to cross paths when we both did work with The Stockroom. We’ve been following each other’s work for years and finally got together to shoot. I took Athena down to Angel’s Gate Bunkers and was not disappointed with her magic. We had an excellent time shooting together and I’m sure you will see more in the future.
And finally The Queen of Fire, Alyssa Earthcandy, is back with her second set. Alyssa and I wanted to get some spooky times in before the Day of The Dead. Alyssa enlisted the help of her friend Cambria of Twisted Flamingo Designs to do her makeup and she did an excellent job. We met up once again the South Bay over by Sunken City for some fire play amongst other things. No disrespect to any of my other wonderful fire performer muses but Alyssa really might be the best. Hope you enjoy all of these spooky sets and even though Halloween is upon us I’m sure there will be plenty more spooky sets to come as well as a few other surprises so enjoy!
