Truth be told I am glad 2018 is almost over. I recognize that the passing of one year to another is nothing more than symbolic but damn that symbol is strong. This year was a motherfucker but then again we had some really beautiful shoots here on the site and a grip of new faces. No new faces this time around, in fact as I was putting together today’s sets I noticed that for each muse this is between their 4th and 6th solo sets with me, so pretty cool. Today we have six new sets including a mini multi-muse set.
To start things off though we have the long-awaited return of Dahliaisdopey during my recent trip down to Orlando, Florida. Dahlia and I first did a trio of sets together earlier this year when I was in South Florida for the unfortunate passing of my Grandmother. We really hit it off during that last trip so when my family told me that we were renting a house in Orlando for Thanksgiving, I hit up Dahlia right away.
Truth be told I’m a little nervous about this set. Originally Dahlia and I were going to shoot around Orlando but both wound up in situations without cars. She very nicely took an Uber to where I was staying but given that the vacation rental was basically in the middle of nowhere in a suburb of Orlando our only option was to shoot in the house, unbeknownst to my family who were all out at the time. We had an amazing shoot so if any of them are reading this, please don’t hate me for shooting scandalous photos there!
Before introducing the next set I’d like to mention that during my trip to Florida I also shot a new set with long-time South Florida friend/muse Jessi Monique BUT several photos from the set go accepted to be published in this month’s Pinup Kulture Magazine so I’m waiting for the release before I put up those photos but stay tuned for that.
After getting back to LA I shot a killer new set with Cindy Clark. The last time Girlwolf and I shot together we discussed me coming over to her place for our next shoot. Let me just say that it was well worth it. I’m not always sure about shooting in people’s places because I tend to speed through scenery to keep up a certain energy and not take the same shot over and over. However what was so great about shooting at Cindy’s place was that we all of these different options of things to play with. We shot inside with her amazing husky Polar, we did some music stuff in her living room including shooting a little video, we shot in her Dad’s garage with his motorcycles, we played with her strobes. I mean really this shoot was the closet thing to a play date I think I’ve had in some time and the photos came out amazing.
The very next day I headed out east to shoot once again with the lovely Sister Bonez. Each time we shoot together I think I put together less and less of a gameplan and our photos come out amazing. We took some photos in this cool park that I’d been to but not in the area we shot in followed by some stuff in Pomona. There are a number of things I love about shooting with Sister Bonez but one of them are the amazing outfits she has and energy she brings to them. We shot some really dope outfits but my favorite was probably the one I requested which was a Ren and Stimpy onesie I saw she posted having worn previously on her social media. We wound up taking a different turn for the last third of our shoot by heading downtown. I wanted to shoot Ms. Bonez with the Christmas light installations in Grand Park but didn’t realize they were mostly closed due to the rain. Actually funny enough it rained throughout the day but we were able to cleverly avoid the downpours each time and still get in a killer set.
Next set I feel needs very little introduction. My wonderful friend and muse Brittny Nicole aka Cosmic Daughter has been inviting me to an event she’s been hosting called Manifest at The Lash in Downtown. The last time we went together was when we did the epic shoot at the promoter’s house. This time I kept things a little more lowkey just doing a mini-set with her my fluffy little bunny May, who I’ve been trying to get to go each time and finally did this time around. The two of them had a great chemistry and we all hope to shoot more photos together sometime soon.
Funny enough this next set is another home set and not even the first one I’ve shot with this person. Yes I headed to WeHo to shoot with the lovely Lady Krondor. I was originally supposed to shoot with another muse that day who wound up getting an unfortunate skin rash and had to cancel last minute. When I get in a shooting state of mind I need to get it out so I hit up Lady Krondor who just happened to be free! When I got to her place I parked right next to this cool vintage style truck so we shot with that and walked around the neighborhood a bit to game plan the rest of the shoot. We did some fun stuff in her kitchen and then played around in her home studio with her strobes (twice in one week with different muses). We even experimented with some dry ice. It was not as epic as we had hoped but still got some great shots nonetheless. This whole shoot felt very intimate and I think it shows.
And finally to finish things up is a full set with the Cosmic Daughter. After seeing Brittny the previous week and having a few days off I asked if she wanted to head to nearby Idyllwild. She was free and down as fuck. Of course it was cold so all the props to Brittny for braving it out in her outfits that do not keep much warm. Brittny took me to this really cool camping spot in Idyllwild and then we made our way to this cool abandoned house in Hemet for some night stuff. I’m good friends with Brittny and her boyfriend Max so I wound up spending the night and we all shot together some more in Idyllwild the next day. This set had a very sort of documentary feel to it and I think you’ll enjoy. I’m hoping to have at least one more post before the year is over but in case I don’t then Happy Holidays!
