Hello again Kung Fu Breakfastonians to another installment of our ongoing lecture series, “Wild Women of Southern California”. This is a fully loaded post with ten brand new sets for your peepers so let’s just right in!
Late last month (how time flies) I got together for my 2nd set with Cherrie Bombshell. During our first shoot together Cherrie mentioned to me wanting to do a clown shoot in her favorite location: Venice Beach so we made it happen. I’m not usually the biggest fan of being in really crowded places but if you’re going to be weird anywhere, The Venice Beach Boardwalk is the place to go. There was a lot of fun discoveries on this shoot including a van with Charles Manson on it (Cherrie has Manson tattooed on her leg) as well as a beautiful prism inside of an ice cream shop. I always love to clown around.
Up next is one of my favorite human beings on the planet: Brianna Christine. I travelled out to Glendora for a fun forest shoot with this angel. Brianna actually specifically requested to be in nature and I was thinking the exact same thing. On the way we stopped to grab the flowers you’ll see in the shoot at local Trader Joe’s and wound up also purchasing a delicious danish pastry called Kringle that kept our bellies full. During our drive up to the mountain top later in the set we also saw a car turned completely on its side on the side of the road in one of the mountain passes. We are still both confused how it got there.
The week of my shoot with Brianna happened to be the only shoot that was scheduled that went through as I had three different cancellations. Fortunately my friend and neighbor Sovereign Syre was down for an impromptu adventure so we went south to my favorite abandoned places Angels Gate Bunkers. Sov brought some really fun outfits but of course wound up nude for a large portion of the shoot. One of my favorite looks had to be the patriotic booty shorts, which happened to work out well timing wise with 9/11 so I titled this set “Never Forget”.
Keeping the impromptu train rolling I lucked out with a wonderful evening with my friend Miss Chaos. Miss Chaos really knows how to throw together an outfit so I’m sure you’d have no clue we put this together really at the last minute. We headed in to The San Fernando Valley to Stoney Point. I’ve shot in Stoney Point a few times but never had gone down to the bottom of the train tunnel where we started our shoot. We got some killer shots and even saw the train pass a few times. During the first train pass I was on the narrow side of the tracks and was so close that my hat flew off. I was afraid I’d lost it but luckily it didn’t go too far (though my sunglasses were on my hat and definitely broke). We busted out some really fun photos before heading back to Miss Chaos’ place to play with her new kittens Julius and Osiris. I couldn’t resist take some photos of them and decided to throw them in the set.
Adventures continued to abound with a new multi muse set out in Ventura. My lovely muse The Spritely One invited me out for the day to shoot with her and her high school friend/fellow cosplayer Sarah Kathrine. We hit up some really fun locations including a middle school, a secluded beach, and Ventura City Hall. Sprite and Sarah have a really strong dynamic together given their long history so that was definitely a lot of fun to work with.
A little sandwich here with another Miss Chaos set. This set wound up being a bit of a last minute decision too but not because of lack of shoots. Miss Chaos is a good longtime friend of mine so we had plans to hang out. On the way to her place I noticed this thick fog over the mountains between The Valley and the rest of LA. I asked her if she’d be down to go explore and of course she was more than in to it. It’s always nice to have a muse that’s down for conditions you really can’t plan such as a good fog. We got some really next level moody shots and had another really killer shoot. Miss Chaos also gave me a weed cupcake and I got super high. The only downside of the shoot was that during the last shot when Miss Chaos stood up she wound up hurting her knee. She is on the mend now but it was certainly a scary episode.
So stoked about this next set as I welcome the return of one of my OG muses: Lina Savanna! Lina and I have been trying to make plans for at least a month now and finally found an evening we were both free. We stopped by Miss Chaos’ place where provided up with THC/CBD cookies as well as a few rad outfits from her wardrobe so big ups to her! We then travelled to Downtown Los Angeles for some exploration. It was really great to be reunited with one of my favs.
The good friends vibes continue with a brand new set featuring The Nova! Nova and I had great time doing our last fire shoot so I wanted to push a little further by bringing back everybody’s favorite BANGS THE CLOWN. Nova and I realized we hadn’t done a Bangs shoot in some time so it was very necessary and why not throw fire in to mix? The last fire shoot we did had the setback of our location not working out but the backup being better than the original. This continued as we arrived at our intended spot only to find out they were filming a movie there so we headed up to the desert. We had a really rad shoot with some fun toys including glow sticks, fire torches, and a cake. The cake wasn’t AS epic as either of us thought it would be but I still think we got some fun shots with it.
More fire (not literal though) for my second shoot with Erin McBeane. Erin and I had such a great chemistry on our first shoot that we wanted to get back in to right away for another one. Sadly Erin was sick for a few weeks so we had to keep pushing back. Once she got well we headed down to Angels Gate Bunkers. We took some really rad photos there but the photos we took back at her homebase of Dromebox studios might be my favorite of the set. We put together a really rad look and headed up to the roof of the Boyle Heights studio. I really love shooting with Erin and I think you’ll see why.
Last but not least is the one and only Cosmic Daughter aka Brittny Nicole. Brittny and I just had another epic shoot out in Idyllwild yesterday, but on the heals of that she invited me The Lash in Downtown for an event she was hosting called Manifest. After my killer shoot with Erin I zipped over there and we improved a really fun mini shoot. Brittny and I have such a strong commitment to art making as well as artistic chemistry that it’s really more than a mini set but considering our first shoot and this most recent one this was just a little appetizer (but still juicy nonetheless).
