I am the type of person that tries my best to de-compartmentalize my life whenever possible, so naturally my shoots are often a reflection of my own experiences. Such is the case for today's mini-set with Grey Garbo where we headed to The Broad Museum in Downtown Los Angeles. The Broad (pronounced like it rhymes with road) only popped up in the last year or two and is free to public, which creates limited space and tickets must be booked in advance. I actually forgot I had booked tickets to The Broad until the day before and asked my good friend Lucrezia aka Grey Garbo if she'd be interested in coming with me.
I had seen a lot of photos on Instagram of some of the more social media worth aspect of the museum, but don't really feel like those did justice to some of the killer work inside. The Broad had some cool stuff to offer but it was ten times better having Grey with me to fuck around and make some cool art with. We didn't have a chance to hit any of the specialty rooms because they require their own sign up that you have to do in person and they were booked for the day, but we still had a great time. After we left we decided to shoot a bit longer including Grey flashing some street people for the sake of some rad photos. Eventually we encountered a good "Fuck Trump" outside of Grand Central Market. I love the photo you'll see in the set but the original incarnation had Lucrezia dropping trough completely as if to be taking a squat next to it. This photo did not come out as well, and had it not been downtown in the middle of the day with cops everywhere I think we could have nailed it, but I'm actually very happy with the result of what we went with instead. We wound up later taking a few night shots as well. Enjoy!
