Summer - Finding One's Self

What an interesting week it's been children of Kung Fu Breakfast.  Originally I was scheduled to do six shoots in 4 days, this wound up getting reduced to four shoots and honestly I couldn't have been happier because all four shoots went very well.  Monday and Tuesday were all about the clown shenanigans as I started the week clowning around with Stephanie Weitekamp in Venice and picked up the next evening with Bangs the Clown as collaborated with mad scientist Balloonski (check my Instagram for a tease).  I also got a rare treat during the Bangs/Balloonski shoot that my friend/filmmaker Steven Burhoe joined us for what I'm sure will be a killer video about our shoot.  Wednesday and Thursday were all about new muses in the forest as I headed to Millard Falls with Ingrid Mouth and back to Switzer Falls with my friend Jaime Black.  I capped the week off with a journey last night to Koreatown to see Kung Fu Babe Talia Schulz aka Sprinkles On Top do her first ever fire performance with her burlesque troupe The Dollface Dames.  Phew!

Today we travel back to the forest for my first set with the beautiful and talented Summer.  It's really hard to remember when I first met Summer because our mutual friend, Annie Motel, had been telling me for the longest time that I needed to meet her and do a shoot together.  I believe Summer and I first officially met at Annie's place for a backyard BBQ she was having (the same place I met Jaime Black).  Summer and I hit it off and discussed doing a shoot for a while but it finally came together in this journey to Lower Winter Creak Trail in the San Gabriel Mountains.  This was my one and only time taking this trail and it was pretty magical.  Summer and I really pealed back the layers and got in to some deep discussion about our lives, struggling to be an artist in Los Angeles, relationships, and more.  By the end of the journey we really built a strong friendship.  Summer is a wonderful painter/illustrator/human being.  We discovered a lot of amazing things in the woods and I think you'll very much enjoy this set.
