There should be a pamphlet given to you when you first move to LA that tells you what's up when it comes to terrain. It's very easy to get stuck in the city life. Someone once told me, "There's no good hiking in LA". This couldn't be further from the truth, but you have to look. Fortunately when I started shooting these sets I was draw to nature. There's just only so much shoots you can do in the city before you bash your head in with a rock. Even luckier was the day that my friend/model Alondra Shields told me about "Switzer Falls". Conveniently located only 30 minutes from my apartment is the beautiful Switzer Falls, part of the Angeles National Forest. This spot has become a magical location for me. One of or two sets have popped up there so far but today's set really marks the beginning of regular appearances here.
This particular trip to Switzer Falls is an interesting case, first of all because it marks the return of one of my OG muses, Nova! For those new to the site, I first met Nova in the Fetish scene. I had been working at The Stockroom doing their video content when they decided to start recording their weekly classes: Stockroom University. One of the classes included one by a gentleman by the name of Wry called "Wry's Poly-Talks" in which Wry, a polyamorous individual would put together multi-part panel discussions on poly relationships. Part of that panel generally includes several of Wry's girlfriends including one Ms. Nova. I knew the second I saw Nova that I wanted to make art with her. Once I left The Stockroom and started shooting my muse sets I contacted her and we hit it off immediately. We shot some sets, and then took a break so Nova could concentrate on her Bangs The Clown character. We stayed in touch but made a serious reconnection around the time of the shooting of this set.
I've always enjoyed shooting Bangs but I have a soft spot in my heart when I get Nova in the raw. I asked Nova if she'd like to head to the woods for a shoot and she was quite ecstatic. On the day we went it had been raining in Los Angeles quite a bit, including drizzling a bit that day. When we arrived in Switzer we quickly realized the water levels in the river were quite high. Normally the path includes a variety of river crossings with rocks and logs that is a challenge but quite manageable. Due to the rain the levels were evidently quite high and in some spots meant wading in the river. I asked Nova if she was ok with this or wanted to turn back. She regaled me with her past growing up in the mountains and that not only was she ok with it, but actually pretty stoked. We had a great time and Nova really shined to me as a Witchy Queen. This is one of my favorite recent sets and I think you will love it too. So enjoy!
