Happy Saturday! The sun is shining and I had a fun week catching up with OG Kung Fu Babe's Minni Jo and Talia Schulz for new sets as well as my first time shooting with the gorgeous Peyton Victoria. I largely stayed within the city for my shoots with MJ and Talia but Peyton and I were able to get out to my new favorite spot, Switzer Falls. I'm not exactly sure what it is that attracts me so much to that place but every shoot I do there feels sort of next level. I always feel like when I have a good model that we could take killer photos wherever we go, but when you just enter a next level type space then you have the freedom just play.
One of the most freeing places to shoot has to be the desert. The deserts of Southern California offer so many possibilities and are just so removed from it all. Even in slightly more populated areas the desert just feels quieter. A favorite desert spot amongst photographers of Southern California has to be Joshua Tree. I've probably spent more time combing through The Salton Sea, but I do love going out to Joshua Tree. You don't get as much of that urban decay thing going on but there's a certain harmony out there.
I was delighted to head out there with the wonderful Cindy Paola. One of these days I'm going to have to shoot with Cindy in the city but I just love taking her out in to nature and I know she loves to explore. It took us a while to get out there so our window to shoot was kind of short but we had a really fun time and took some killer shots. Per usual, Cindy and I had some great conversation, we climbed on giant rocks, and had a great time. Eventually we made our way back to LA to hang out with another Kung Fu Babe, Kira Lawrence, so I snuck in a shot of the two of them. I previously photographed the two of them as vampires covered in makeup so this was my first time actually shooting them together in their normal gear. Their energy together is off the charts so I'll have to find some time to shoot them together again.
