I just love a good adventure. As a kid I loved anytime we'd go on road trips. My parents had to force me to look away from my comic books but when I did it was always magical to see where we were going. Often times we would take day trips to nowhere in particular just to drive around. I remember the first time I travelled from my home in Western Massachusetts to Ithaca, New York for college how in wonder I was at the majesty of upstate New York in the fall. I've driven across the country four times: twice with a girl I was dating in college and most recently in December of 2015 with Angelina Christina for Art Basel where we drove from LA to Miami with Kevin Ledo and back on our own (Kevin flew back from Miami to his home in Montreal).
It doesn't have to be a long adventure of me either. Sometimes I just like when someone else says, "I noticed this place is rad, we should go." Such was the case with my favorite lil' Witch Lina Savanna when she invited me out for the day to shoot. We began our day heading to Citywalk at Universal Studios for an errand Lina had to run. I was not necessarily expecting this to lend itself to a location for shooting but it actually produced some really dope shots. We then made our way to the famous Brewery Lofts where we were trying to find some food. Unfortunately the only food place there was closed but the location itself once again wound up being the real magic. Ultimately we headed to the place where Lina wanted to bring me all along: Montecito Heights. Montecito Heights is actually super close to where I live in Highland Park. Lina noticed how rad it was during her own recent adventures and thought it would be cool to shoot there. It definitely was. We ended our day catching a show with Ramonda Hammer at The Hi-Hat in Highland Park and shooting a few photos there. I hope you enjoy our fun adventure together!
