It's hard to believe we are several months in to 2017 already! It was so hot here in LA yesterday, I think today has kind of cooled down a bit but it's a reminder that we are entering in to full gear. As beautiful as it was this week I was largely holed up working on videos of Angelina Christina in preparation for our screening at Coachella Magazine's Desert Boheme event next weekend in Indio, CA. I did wind up doing several shoots regardless including an impromptu shoot with Annie Motel and Sofia Weinberg, a scheduled shoot with new Kung Fu Babe Synful Pleasure, and a few shots last night of Grey Garbo and Lady Krondor when I went to visit them at Arqade Studios during Art Walk (not sure if those will be a set or just a few photos for social media). I'd love to talk more about these videos that Angelina and I have been working on for close to two years but I think it's best to save it once they are more accessible to the public but if you want to a special screening and you're in the LA/Indio area you should come out.
Speaking of graffiti, today's shoot is the return of the gorgeous unicorn Ry Toast. I wanted to take Ry somewhere special again so we decided to head to Norco, CA to shoot at the abandoned Norco Power House. You'll remember I shot there not too long ago with kiwi Em Wafer, but when Em and I got there the sun had almost completely gone down and we only stayed for a little bit so I wanted to do a full-on shoot there and Ry was all about it. A side story to this spot is that there is an upper level you'll see in the set where we shoot. Between the shoot with Em and the shoot with Ry I headed there with a few friends just to hang out. During that adventure I was going to take a funsie photo of my homegirls when I took a step forward right in to a foot sized hole. My leg went straight through, got scratched the fuck up, and I landed on my camera. I was convinced I had destroyed my camera which would have left me devastated. I wound up landing on my lens but the only damage sustained was a crack in the outer rim which has now been lined with red gaffer's tape. With Ry I was extra careful and we did not fall through any holes. We had a great time and I think you'll enjoy the photos. We also stopped by a dope electrical box painted by Anthroe Foresight near my house on the way back and took a few photos of Ry in her band Tyrone's Jacket's t-shirt. Enjoy!
