Hello hello! I've been trying to keep full weekend updates going but I took a little day off yesterday to catch up on some other work and shoot some video at the VR Premiere Party at Arqade Studios in downtown. They are doing some really fascinating stuff there and I look forward to continue see them growing. There's a lot of things going on in the world today when it comes to technology, gender politics, sexuality, drug use, and I heard a great quote from Joe Rogan the other day which is, "Which side of history do you want to be on?" It was a fun night because in addition to shooting I also got to hang out with Grey Garbo and talk about weird topics per usual.
Today's subject is another great conversationalist: Ms. Cortney Vargas. I first met Cortney at Stephanie Inagaki's New Year's Eve Party 2015/2016. I knew the second I saw her that I really wanted to photograph her. When I finally hit her up about shooting she was down but as with many things I had to wait a bit. Cliches are sometimes right and in this case patience was a virtue and good things come to those who wait. Cortney and I finally found a free day to shoot together and travelled to Switzer Falls, which is easily becoming one of my favorite spots to shoot. Cortney told me before hand that she was super awkward and this wouldn't be great but she couldn't have been more of a natural and lovely to shoot. We had a great time! Her style is so fabulous, very natural poses, great at taking direction, and that smile! Cortney works in the zoo system so we decided at some point we need to figure out a way to photograph her with some sloths. I'm hoping to shoot again with Cortney soon but for now let's just appreciate the beauty of Cortney Vargas.
