First post of the new year and I'm only a week in. Quite the week it was. After last weekend's no fun working driving Lyft all holiday weekend I had a few kiiler shoots with in two of my favorite urban decay spots with Ry Toast on Tuesday at the old Norco Power Station and new model Liza at a very familiar spot, Rock-a-Hoola waterpark. Both shoots were pretty killer plus a few other adventures here and there this so of course now I'm sick. Hard to say when the sickness happened and if we are in the beginning stages or the late stages. I hate getting sick but I so rarely do. The most important way to avoid getting sick is to sleep and I love to sleep. Maybe also don't shoot with models that are also getting sick and then blaze together. It also doesn't help that it's been raining all over LA for the better part of a week and really on and off for about a month. It's wonderful but throws off my schedule of outdoor shoots.
Today's outdoor shoots is one of my favorite as I finally got together to shoot photos with my friend Tara Tactile. Tara and I met a few years down in South Florida when she first started dating my old friend Timb. Timb and I worked together at The Fetish Factory down in Fort Lauderdale. I worked the floor and he was the graphic designer/web designer in the back office. We were lunch buddies and he saved me from what probably would have been Wendy's every day by showing me the local delicacies. Timb and I were also part of a friend group that involved a variety of characters including Kung Fu Babe Vampira Bitely. Timb and I stayed friends for the next decade after I moved often hanging out when I would come in to town. On one of those trips I met Tara at The Funky Buddha. I've always thought Tara was super pretty and super rad so when Timb and Tara decided to move to LA I was beyond stoked.
I told Tara I'd love to take some photos of her but it took a little while for us to get together. Eventually we found the time and decided to take night hike. Tara actually lived in LA long before I did before eventually moving to Florida. One of her favorite and most frequent spots to go to was in Topanga Canyon so we chose this as our shoot location. We had a really fun lowkey outdoor shoot talking all sorts of fun and bizarre topics. I love Tara because you can ask her the most random silly question and she will give you a serious, well thought out, answer. Tara is truly a unicorn and I think that will show in today's photos so enjoy!
