Well Labor Day has come and gone and I learned something this weekend that I didn't realize before: Los Angeles is pretty dead during Labor Day. That being said it was a pretty good weekend that was capped off by a new shoot with one of my favorite models, Kira Lawrence. Kira and I met up on the westside and ventured to a few spots in Playa Vista before ultimately heading to Downtown for a few shots in the building of the restaurant Kira worked at but is now closing down.
We had a killer time together so I wanted to post the photos from our last full shoot together. A few months ago Kira and I shot at one of the few rad spots in LA I had yet to visit: Greystone Mansion. Greystone is a beautiful mansion that is open to the public to walk around. Unfortunately they are sticklers against photography. I tried to explain that the photos were non-commercial but just the fact that we were professionals was enough. Kira also happened to not have a shirt on under her leather jacket so when the security guard walked up to us he utter the words, "....Annnnnnd she's topless". Luckily Kira and I move fast and stealth and got a lot of photos there before we got kicked out. After leaving Greystone we headed to Murphy Ranch. It was my first time there since my shoot with Mika Mae Jones. We didn't stay as long as Mika and I did and ultimately didn't even enter the house but we got a lot of really nice shots including a number of them on the infamous stairs leading down to the former Nazi compound. Overall it was a really fun and epic shoot that eventually involved me throwing up a little on the side of the stairs. Magical indeed.
