LA Art Show coverage continues today with one of my favorite sets. I love to shoot portraits, but I'll be honest, I can get a bit shy. I rarely just walk up to someone and say, "Hey, can I take your portrait." But as an official photographer for The LA Art Show I have an excuse. "Hey, I'm shooting for The LA Art Show, can I take your photo?" This gets people excited. I also happen to know a lot of people in the art scene and that helps, and then I'm sneaky so I can usually snap off a few candids without someone noticing as well. The candid may not seem like too big a deal in this day and age of cell phone cameras and auto-focus, but I shoot everything manually so I have to be stealthy but also maintain my patience for the right moment. Over four days of the show I think I capture a rad cross section of people. You be the judge.
