Back in LA one day and it seems like things are already getting busy as fuuuuuck once again. Coming from a small town area like Western Massachusetts, I value the necessity of peace and quiet to clear the mind. This is probably a big reason why I love to do a lot of my shoots out in nature. There's something about the conversation you can have with just one person, making art together, and listening to nature that's just calming and helps for focus.
For today's set I have to give a thank you to one of my favorite models, Mel Montesi, for connecting me with Jessica Erickson. Connections can be tough because the taste level of some is not necessarily that of others. Often friends of friends are great but you never know why someone is connecting you. Some of my favorite models have come through connections and Jessica Erickson is another example of that. Jessica and I vibed the second we met and had a great day shooting together. We were really lucky for the recent storms because that meant the waterfalls were flowing. We headed out to Millard Falls and had a wonderful little hike in nature. Since we were in the Foothills area I decided to take Jessica by my old school Art Center College of Design where I attended Grad School and later worked. Much like getting out to nature, shooting with Jessica was pure delight, cleared the mind, and I look forward to doing it again.
