The future! The future is now. This week Angelina Christina and I hooked up with 3DR Robotics to do our first flight with their killer drone known as The Solo. The story goes back to our Miami trip for Art Basel where Angelina painted on the side of a mobile-art truck for Greg Mike's ABV Gallery, Montana Cans, and Heineken at Art Basel 2015. ABV teamed up with 3DR Robotics to do drone coverage of the event for a cool video they put together. During this I met Kate Blaising from 3DR (and yes the name is pronounced like Blazing). Kate and I hit it off and have continued to converse. Kate and everyone at 3DR are big fans of Angelina and her work so she contacted me suggesting Angelina for their Brand Ambassador program supporting artists (especially female ones) using drones to document their art. Angelina and I were stoked for the opportunity. As soon as the drone arrived and we were ready we headed back to The Salton Sea where Angelina and Ease One famously painted The Tank and The Kinetoscope. The footage we got was amazing and we are actually heading back today for more.
Today's set is also about The Future and forgotten places. On Halloween I went with my friends Nick and Atrell to a party in Lincoln Heights and met a beautiful vampire named Julia Arnold. The second I saw Julia I knew I wanted to photograph her. It turned out that Julia had just come from living in New York maybe only a month or two prior and had come to LA to start her own clothing store. Julia was stoked to shoot so we headed to one of my favorite areas to explore - The South Bay right along the coast. Julia and I found a set of old military bunkers down there originally built during WWII. We had a great shoot and I think you'll enjoy it.
