Welcome back to the site one of my favorite ladies: Ms. Cindy Parra. Cindy and I originally met while both attending Art Center College of Design where I was getting my MFA in Film and she was getting her BFA in Fine Art. Actually that's not completely accurate. I had been getting my MFA but graduated and landed in a job in the Film/Photo Equipment Room while Cindy was attending. I always enjoyed Cindy stopping by the Equipment Room but we didn't know each other all that well until I ran in to her sometime last year at a Super Chief show. Cindy was working with Super Chief including that night making her famous cotton candy. Since then we've become really close and enjoyed coffee, pie, and conversations about art, sexuality, BDSM, and a myriad of other topics.
A few months ago we were getting some coffee and pie in Pasadena when the inspiration hit for an impromptu photo shoot. Impromptu shoots are some of my favorite because it's like two rad musicians getting together for a jam sesh. There's no plan. There can't be a plan. You just see in that moment that two of you are ready to make art together and its kismet. Had I not told you this was impromptu would you know the difference? We made some magic that evening walking around Pasadena and eventually heading over to Super Chief after hours for a few really dope photos. I also started the set with a cute photo I had taken of Cindy during a previous coffee/pie meeting. I think these are some really killer photos and accurately portray what it's like when Cindy and I hang out so enjoy!
