There are some people that are just the most wonderful people in the world where you have this dynamic chemistry, but you only see them every once in a while like having a really amazing dessert. You say to yourself, "OH MY GOSH! I should have this all the time!" and then it isn't until a bunch of time passes that it happens all over again. This is what my life with Julia Arnold is like. Julia and I met just over a year ago at a Halloween Party my friends brought me to. I didn't have any connection to Julia but I really wanted to photograph her so I struck up a conversation and pretty shortly after we had an amazing shoot together down in San Pedro. We talked all about how she had just recently moved from NYC and she was in the process of opening up a clothing boutique. It was magical and we talked about shooting together regularly and kicking it.
Six months later we realized we hadn't shot together or kicked it and set up for today's shoot. We didn't go anywhere too far or crazy, in fact Julia only lives maybe 15 minutes away from me. We did however go to a few of my favorite spots around Griffith Park including Bronson Cave and the Old LA Zoo. I've actually shot in both of these places but somehow shooting there with Julia felt completely different so I was happy for the slight shift as I never want to re-tread things artistically. Hopefully this new set will prompt another shoot sooner than later (potentially with a bathtub). So enjoy and Happy Holidays!
