Some people are just meant to be in your life. I think if you're paying attention then they are easy to identify. You feel this familial bond with them. It doesn't always mean you'll hang out all the time or anything like that. What it really means is that they are connected to you. If that person is a good person then chances are they will have your back but if nothing else they get who you are. The second I met Keelin the first time I knew that we would be friends (maybe it was her cotton candy pink hair). We actually met about a year ago soon after I moved to Highland Park. Our mutual friend Kat (future Kung Fu Babe) invited both of us to participate in a Highland Park Scavenger Hunt. We wound up losing to the Hunt for bullshit reasons (how do you bring back a mustache as opposed to just taking a picture?) but we were bonded on that day and I knew eventually I'd want to photograph her. When we recently discussed the idea Keelin had several ideas and we ultimately wound up visiting the wacky and beautiful house of a friend of her's in Boyle Heights. We stopped at a few other spots but this set the tone for the shoot. Keelin is awesome.
