Welcome to Halloween Month! All month long we will have sets inspired by the Halloween time of year. I wanted to start the month with my favorite spooky lady: Stephanie Inagaki. Stephanie is one of my favorite people and artists so getting a chance to shoot together was a real pleasure for me. Stephanie and I first met years ago when we were both working part-time at a fetish shop in Silverlake. Stephanie showed me her and I was blown away. The more time I spent with her the more I realized how hard she had worked at her craft and her place as a fixture of the new wave of artists in the LA Art Scene. Stephanie and I had a great time working together talking art and such.
I approached Stephanie about shooting some photos together and she was more than happy to do it, if nothing else so we could spend some time catching up. With Stephanie's history in things of the macabre I wanted to take her somewhere special and with the right vibe. We headed to spot in Altadena called Cobb Estate, which is supposedly haunted. We saw no ghost but in fact had a nice little hike. I was worried the photos wouldn't reflect what I was hoping but the second I saw them I felt a chill. Stephanie was great to photograph.
Stephanie's always been supportive of my art including as a contributor to my former art magazine which is still available here under the magazine tab. In fact Stephanie completed covers for a March 2015 issue that never materialized as I had already decided to take a hiatus to focus on other things like this website 3 months prior. As a special Halloween-month treat I've decided to include these covers at the end of this set so they now have a home.
